What is Cinemadamare
The biggest and free of charge gathering of young filmmakers in the world, an international travelling movie Campus and a production centre addressed to filmmakers, students and professionals of movie industry. Each year, 300 participants come from more than 50 countries of the world and they work together during each stage of a film production: script development, location scouting, filming and editing.
Since 2003, it runs through Italy during the summer. It starts in Rome at the end of June and finishes in Venice at the end of the Venice International Film Festival, during which CinemadaMare is present with the young participants of the Campus.
It offers free accomodation in schools used as hostels and free shifts from a city to another, travelling on a bus. Cinemadamare assures a qualified educational programme: every day Cinemadamare’s schedule includes Masterclasses, Workshops and special meetings addressed to all the filmmakers.
Cinemadamare is a real open-air show that takes place in the town square of the city that hosts us, offering the screenings of its two competitions, the Main Competition and the Weekly Competition.
